THE HIDDEN LOAD
Modern equipment such as LED lighting, variable-speed drives, UPS systems, IT equipment and switched-mode power supplies can introduce harmonic currents into an electrical installation.
These can contribute to high neutral currents, additional heating, nuisance operation, reduced equipment life and unexpected loading of transformers, cables and distribution equipment.
